FLAWLESS

Focussed on the loss of material. ‘Ebony’, one of the most densed and rich types of wood, therefore also scarce. Great amounts of materials are being rejected because of the demand for flawless pieces. Material tryouts and experiments showed me another transparant application with dust of rejected pieces or by making use of these flaws which emphasize the characterstics of a piece. ‘Flawless Lamp’ is one of the outcomes within this research, with reference to ‘The Tableware Studies’.

THE TABLEWARE STUDIES

The beginning of ‘Flawless’. A second life for rejected and lost pieces of wood.

Sketches; the wood is either fixed with paper or resin.
